Scholarship Search Sites
Search sites are the last place to look, not the first. Local scholarships have far fewer applicants, so start with the Credo scholarship list. Then use the sites below to find more.
General Tips
Never pay. Not to search, not to apply, and not for a “guaranteed” match.
Skip “no essay” drawings. They are sweepstakes that collect your contact information.
Start local. Work through the Credo list (below).
Use a separate email address for scholarship accounts, so the mail stays out of your main inbox.
Give it 30 minutes a week. A short weekly session will be more useful than one long night in March.
How many sites should I use?
One broad site is enough. Add a second only if it fits your situation. The big sites list mostly the same scholarships, so signing up for five of them gets you five inboxes of email, not five times the money.
Pick one broad site, plus one that fits you. Both kinds are listed below.
Apply on the sponsor’s own website. Use a search site to find a scholarship, then go to the organization’s own page to check the deadline and apply.
